With separately applied wedge is suitable for a range of high specification window systems – including the FIRST® APL Architectural Series. Design requirements mean that standard residential windows must use the Miro® wedgeless fastener.
Miro hardware is generally powder coated and should be cleaned on a regular basis.
Atmospheric deposits, especially in coastal areas, can cause damage to the coating, and the surface should be cleaned at least three-monthly. In severe marine environments this should ideally be done monthly, especially for exterior-mounted hardware such as door handles.
Cleaning should be undertaken with a dilute solution of a mild detergent and warm water. A soft brush or rag should be used and there should be no use of abrasive aids. After cleaning, the coating should be wiped down with fresh water.
Miro hardware items with matt silter or gold plating are more vulnerable to marine exposure and should not be used in coastal environments.
Plated (soft) finishes are excluded from this warranty as deterioration is possible under some environmental conditions.
