This two-storey beach side dwelling was designed by architectural designer Chris Tate for owners and builders of the project Andrew and Katie Graham from ADG Builders.
This project was beautifully constructed using FIRST® Residential, FIRST® Metro Series and FIRST® APL Architectural Series aluminium joinery. Windowmakers supplied the family home with 16 windows and eight doors with 6mm Green tints and double-glazing.
Built to last, this well articulated project; inspired by two traditional boat sheds create a stimulating family home to passers by. The boat like ends of the home were positioned on the east and west ends of the property to create a symmetrical design and to maximise the property’s potential.
Windows further enhance the design concepts in this project. The positioning of the windows, and the gable ends of the home create wide circulation areas as well as the privacy needs from the neighbouring properties.
A seamless connection to the outdoors is created from the eight metre wide Architectural Series door. The large bi-fold door opens up the kitchen and dining area for easy indoor-outdoor flow and a spectacular view.
Design flair can be seen in the architectural project from the integration of joinery colours throughout the home. The two-storey gable ends of the house feature black painted cedar and matte black joinery, while the low pavilion features white cedar with arctic white joinery. The un-aged white and black colour palette then continues throughout the interior including the kitchen, which features a 4m long white stone island and matte black cabinets.
This unique beach side home could not have been built more meticulous, as it is situated at one end of a picturesque beach, Stanmore Bay. Designed with a purpose, the design stands up well to the family life that enjoys the beach and barbeques.
The frames of perfectly designed windows accentuate this project, built to the openness and transparency of the home.
Windowmakers are proud to have completed the strong angled windows and doors for this trend winning home.
