Our Facility.
After nearly two years of planning and execution, we’re proud to be fully operational in our purpose-built manufacturing facility, marking a significant advancement in innovation and production excellence for aluminium doors and windows.
Location: 909 Haruru Rd, Wainui 0873.
The Windowmakers facility spans 5,000 square metres of what was once a well-known horse arena and later a refurbished film studio—previously home to productions such as The Chronicles of Narnia and Crouching Tiger. This unique site has been thoughtfully reimagined into our purpose-built manufacturing facility. Through careful planning and purposeful design, it now stands as a striking example of how architectural transformation and precision can redefine industrial spaces—while preserving the original character and charm of its setting.
Built for Purpose.
The facility brings all our operations together on one efficient site, complete with a cafeteria and an on-site apartment to support our team in this somewhat remote location. Completed in May 2024, it stands as a testament to production efficiency, thoughtful design and sustainability.
Engineered for Production Efficiency
Our state-of-the-art factory is equipped with an advanced machining centre, including New Zealand’s largest Twin Saw. This technology enhances precision, ensures consistent quality, and supports the long-term performance of every aluminium door and window we produce. The facility’s layout also features three straight-line production lines, purpose-built for manufacturing our ThermalHEART® thermal break windows and doors—enabling the efficient and timely production of our newest aluminium joinery suites.
Designed with Glazing at Its Core
As you’d expect from a window manufacturing company, glazing plays a prominent role in the design of our facility. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows feature throughout the office and factory spaces, showcasing not only the quality of our products but also the benefits of their performance.
Each pane is crafted using The AGP System’s Solux Ultra®, which significantly reduces thermal transfer, stabilising interior temperatures and minimising the need for artificial heating and cooling. The glazing also balances natural light to reduce glare and visual strain, creating a brighter, more comfortable workspace.
A Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is built into the core of our operations. By using high-performance glazing and efficient building design, we’ve significantly reduced our facility’s carbon footprint and operational energy costs. In our daily operations, we also practice composting, recycling, and office waste reduction—initiatives that align with our mission to minimise environmental impact and contribute to a better future for New Zealand.
Harmonising with the Landscape
The architectural design of the facility complements its natural surroundings. With flush integration, clean lines, and expansive glazing, the building presents a refined and understated aesthetic that blends effortlessly into Auckland’s rural landscape. The open, light-filled interior connects seamlessly with the outdoors, creating a sense of space and harmony rarely found in industrial buildings.
All these elements came together to earn our facility a Silver Award in the Industrial Category at the New Zealand Commercial Project Awards 2025—a testament to the innovation, design excellence, and commitment to quality that define everything we do.
