Pre-Production Specialist

Your primary role is to oversee the meticulous execution and completion of projects within the organisation, focusing exclusively on internal information management. This position is essential for maintaining the flow of project activities, from inception through to the final preparation of job sheets using the company's V6 software, ensuring they are ready for production.

This role is critical in ensuring the successful execution and readiness of projects at Windowmakers. By fostering a smooth transition from the planning phase to production, this role is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency and achieving our operational goals.

Duties & Responsibilities 

Technical Support for Internal Teams 

  • Act as the central technical point of contact for internal teams, providing specialised advice and solutions to overcome project challenges.  
  • Support in the detailed planning, execution, and monitoring of projects to align with internal specifications and the company's high standards. 

Job Sheeting 

  • Utilise the company's V6 software to create comprehensive and accurate job sheets that are ready for the production phase.
  • Ensure all job sheets are completed in accordance with project requirements and are prepared for seamless handover to the production team. 

Material Coordination 

  • Manage the internal requisition and allocation of materials required for projects, coordinating closely with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate availability according to project needs.   

Project Readiness and Coordination 

  • Collaborate with teams to confirm all project facets, including job sheet preparation, material readiness, and any prerequisite tasks, are finalised for production.  
  • Conduct routine reviews with relevant teams to identify and address potential issues or delays, applying immediate corrective actions. 

Quality Assurance and Compliance 

  • Uphold strict adherence to company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations throughout project activities.  
  • Engage in quality assurance reviews, particularly analysing job sheets before production handover, to ensure compliance with project and company requirements.  

Internal Stakeholder Communication 

  • Maintain open and effective communication channels with all internal stakeholders, including project teams, operations, and procurement, to ensure clarity and coherence on project goals and progress.  
  • Deliver periodic updates and reports to the Market Manager regarding project statuses, obstacles, and achievements.  

Continuous Improvement 

  • Identify and advocate for process enhancements within project management and coordination to boost efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.  
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, enhancing your project management and technical support capabilities.  

Skills & Experience Required 

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in window and door joinery pricing or specification is required, with a preference for candidates who have experience with APL suites 
  • Proven AutoCad experience 
  • Demonstrated experience in job sheeting, material coordination, and project management
  • Effective time management skills, prioritising work to meet deadlines 
  • Interpersonal and problem solving skills 
  • Eye for detail
